I'm home. And I am so shagged. I was at Circuit Road washing dishes for some wedding reception. For the dough, fatigue is not an option.
The Malaysian Federal Elections was really a surprising twist of event. I was up yesterday night, tuning to Channelnews Asia with the Boo on the phone and blabbering about it. The ruling coalition, Barisan Nasional lost four states to the votes of the opposition. Surprising, since BN has been the rulers of Malaysia since independence, many would thought the win would obviously side with BN, or at least a landslide. Even the political commentators stated that the Malays in Malaysia are starting to voting for the opposition. Surprising, really since the Malays would naturally support BN since UMNO is the major component party and Malay Solidarity would be preserved.
And I believe that the People's Action Party can lose their grip in Singapore. If our citizens are more active politically and conscious, we can use the power of democracy to rid of our current master and usher a new era of democracy and a more vibrant political landscape. We can start with our younger generation. No more oblivion. More action. For democracy.
If Malaysia can do it, why can't we?
